Task
My mission was to brand the iconic drummer, Laurence Gordon “Corky” Laing . He is best known as a longtime member of pioneering American hard rock band, Mountain. The first usage of the design would be printed tour-shirts.
Challenge
Being inspired, but not copying the original artworks. The same goes for the typography; recreating the retro style rather than copying it directly.
Solution
Thanks to enough research, the design worked out well. The back print of the shirt is more messy than legible, which gives it a more interesting, and in my opinion, appealing look.
