Infinite Roll
Berlin 2019
Task
The objective of my bachelor thesis was to explore the impact of social media on society and challenge the necessity of digital tools. My project sought to question whether a graphic designer could work entirely through analog methods while addressing the cultural and psychological effects of social media.
Challenge
I aimed to prove that modern tools like the internet and digital devices are not essential for creative work. To push this further, I undertook a physical journey into the wild, away from all digital conveniences, to explore if I could document my work and experiences without relying on technology. This was also a test of whether social media’s influence could be truly escaped in a hyper-connected world.
Solution
I embarked on a demanding journey into the wild, relying only on analog tools for creation and documentation. This experience allowed me to test the impact of disconnecting from digital life and to explore how much control social media has over us. My physical and creative journey became the core of both my thesis and project, offering a bold statement on self-reliance and the true effects of digital dependency.
